Ellis L. Bennett

Ellis concentrates his practice on the representation of design professionals in business litigation and employment matters.
Ellis earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, from West Virginia University in 1996. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from Washington and Lee University School of Law in 1999. During law school Ellis was selected to represent Washington and Lee University as a member of its Jessup International Moot Court Team.
Prior to joining Lee and McShane Ellis was a member of the United States Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps. He served as a military prosecutor at Fort Belvoir, VA followed by an assignment as a military defense attorney at Fort Benning, GA. After completing his military service Ellis was in private practice during which time he represented medical professionals in medical malpractice claims and various corporate clients in matters of employment law.
Ellis is admitted to the State and Federal Courts of Virginia, the District of Columbia, and West Virginia. He is also admitted to the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
